Ever hear of the Nebraska Cornhuskers? One of the best football teams of the 90's? Nope, neither have I!
Well, let me rephrase this. Nope, neither have I until this past weekend! I, like almost everyone else, know of the Longhorns. But unlike everyone else, I want to see them fail. Miserably. And they came pretty close when they played a virtually unknown team, completely unranked, who just 3 years ago lost by over 60 points! That's right people! SIXTY POINTS!
How is this, you may ask? Perhaps a change in coaching staff caused for this major upset. Last year, the Huskers hired Bo Pelini for their head coach, formerly the head defense coach of the same team. And, judging by the amazing attacks of Suh (a star player for the Husker defense), Pelini is workin' some magic.
Texas is still undefeated, but they were definately knocked off their high horse. This team is used to scoring at least 43 points a game, whereas agaisnt Nebraska, they only managed a meager 13. Fail!!
Not only that, Nebraska would have, and should have, won if not for an illegal call by the refs. They reviewed a call after the play was over. Fail!
I was rooting for the "Big Red" the entire time. But, with one second left in the game (due to the afformentioned illegal call) Texas pulled off a hail mary by the hair on the chinny chin chins. I was seriously hoping for some alien to come in and kidnap the football with some sort of beam. (those who read sci-fi, please clue me in on the different kinds!)
All in all, I do believe Nebraska Huskers wooped some major patooty out on that field. GO BIG RED!

They're at it again.

aloha! welcome back!
With all this buzz goin around on universal healthcare, I decide I'm gonna throw my 2 cents in.
...
.....
.......
DON'T DO IT!
Reasons why:
- Personally, I'd love to be able to have an abortion without paying ridonkulous rates and risking going to debters' prison.
- We have one of the best systems out there. England and Canada wish they were us!
- Apparently, there will be an opt out option. What happens if everyone opts out? I say, fail.
- I'm fairly sure seniors would prefer to be kept alive.
- According to the government, this would not raise taxes. We would just magically get tons of money to pay for the wellbeing of millions of people. Seems pretty secure, no?
- The reason why healthcare is so high is most likely due to the fact that doctors must charge somewhat unfair rates to pay for their 100's of thousands of dollars in debt that they paid to go to school to take care of all us sickos. Also, since we are such a court happy society, they have to charge a lil extra so they can pay us back when we sue them for malpractice. Hmm... makes you think, huh?
- Plus, this public option sounds like it won't even be an option in a decade or so. People will be conned into thinking that the government is the best option, and put the rest of 'em outta business!
Something to keep you thinking as well:
Why are we rushing to get a bill into vote, when, more then likely, it won't even go into affect for another
4 years? I say, make it absoloutely perfect, revise, make it perfect again, then let US(!) vote on it. After all, the senate, congress, and Mr. President himself will be exempt. If they're not gonna be usin' it, don't be votin' on it!
